I don't know about you, but each time I take my kids to a Paint Your Own Pottery (PYOP) shop, I fear that they are going to touch one thing and the entire store will begin falling like dominoes. Most PYOP shops are not super kid friendly, but children enjoy painting so much!
Kindness Counts at Play Street Museum
It should come as no surprise that from an early age, children have a great capacity for showing emotion. We see this in infants when they display that first amazing smile at only a few months old and in the tears of discontent that they shed when they are hungry or need changing. We see this in toddlers when they cuddle their teddy close or scream in anger when someone takes their favorite toy.
At Play Street, we believe that we have a duty to develop in children a sense of independence while simultaneously instilling in them the importance of community, team work, and tolerance. Helping children to explore diversity awareness at a young age is the first step in doing just that. Broaching the subjects of diversity and tolerance can seem like daunting tasks, but they don’t have to be. You can introduce your child to these concepts the way that they learn best…. through play!
